Indonesia's investment grade is improving and Jokowi continues to set a course designed to make Indonesia a much more competitive and investor-friendly nation.
In an intitaive geared to improve the Ease of Doing Business (EODB) in Indonesia and to make the counrty more competitive in the global market place, President Jokowi wants the process for foreigner work permits to be made easier.
After a limited meeting around the topic of increasing exports and investments, Cabinet Secretary Pramono Anung said that the president wants the whole foreigner work permit process to be less convoluted and he has instructed all relevant ministries to comply.
The Ministeries of Manpower and Transmigration, Justice and Human Rights, Trade and Industry, Maritime Affairs and Fisheries and the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources have been given just two weeks to simplify the process according to Republika.
Pramono said that if this is not immediately implemented and resolved the president will issue a Presidential Decree (called Perpres) to ensure that it is.
Foreign workers who are most likely to be affected would only be those at management and director levels.
