Head of Research for JLL Indonesia, James Taylor, discusses investment trends in the Indonesian real estate market as witnessed by JLL over the course of the year, and their expectations moving into the rest of 2018 and beyond.

• The economy has been growing at just below or just above 5%, lower than the 7% target.
• Economic growth affected by rupiah depreciation.
• Despite this, endless appetite from international and local groups looking to invest in Indonesia.
• Appeal to invest, stemming from a growing population and middle class, particularly in the increasing need for housing solutions. 
• Traditional investment opportunities in Indonesia: property market.
